Finn is the epitome of the all-American boy: handsome, quarterback of the football team and cheerleader girlfriend - but there's lots more to him than that. His father died fighting a war in the Middle East, leaving him to be raised by his mom, Carole. He discovered a love of music as a boy thanks to a lawncare specialist and was recruited into the glee club by Will under unusual circumstances after he discovered Finn singing in the boys' locker room showers.

He wears his heart on his sleeve and is not afraid to tell someone how he feels, especially around certain subjects and situations. He will often go to Will for advice when he needs it, because he greatly looks up to the teacher and sees him as a father figure. Recently, his mother got married to Burt Hummel, giving him a stepfather as well as a brother in fellow glee club member Kurt.
If Will is the heart of New Directions, then Finn is its soul

Looking to change his late father's discharge status, Finn enrolled in the army but was discharged and is now attending the University of Lima pursuing his teaching degree, having volunteered as the glee club's interim coach while Will was away in Washington

Actor Bio - Cory Monteith

Cory was born in Calgary, Canada and was raised in Victoria, British Columbia. Before becoming an actor, he worked odd jobs as a Wal-Mart greeter, taxi driver, roofer and school bus driver. He dropped out of high school in his freshman year and eventually went to Vancouver to pursue an acting career
His first TV role was a guest shot on Stargate: Atlantis, he has also done small roles on Supernatural, Whistler, Kyle XY and Killer Instinct among others, film roles include Final Destination 3 and Deck The Halls. Along with Glee co-stars Mark Salling and Matthew Morrison, he was selected as one of People magazine's Sexiest Men Alive for 2009

Cory currently resides in Los Angeles. His birthday is May 11

Fun Facts
Cory didn't sing in his first audition. He sent a tape of himself playing drums on Tupperware and other various objects, and it wasn't until his studio audition that he got to show off his singing skills
